What is the best way to get mats out of my Maltese's hair?

First of all you will need a Fine Toothed Comb, Scissors, & Conditioner. The
best way to prevent mats is by combing your Maltese's hair daily. Never wash
your Maltese if it has lots of mats, it will only make it worse. Get all the mats out
with a fine toothed comb and then wash him/her. If the mats are too hard to
comb out then you may have to cut or clip them out. Be very careful not to cut
your dog - you may need to have your Maltese clipped by a professional. If your
Maltese gets a puppy cut by your groomer once every month or two you should
not have mats to worry about.
